Campaign message
Welcome to the South Lyon Band program fundraising page. South Lyon Band Parent Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports the South Lyon High School band program, is seeking the support of our community to help raise funds for our 2021 programming. Like many non-profit organizations, our main fundraiser, a weekly community bingo night, has been closed since March 2020 due to the pandemic. This has created a shortfall in our budget which affects the boosters being able to support things like the acquisition and maintenance of instruments, equipment, trailers, uniforms, travel, and the provision of musical scholarships for students in the band program. Your contribution, no matter the size, will be greatly appreciated and will make an impact on our program and musicians. All money raised will go directly to the band program to help support the concert bands, jazz band, marching band, winter indoor percussion, pit orchestra, and pep band. The South Lyon Band program serves roughly 90-100 members each year. The band has been in existence for over 60 years and has achieved much success. In the last 10 years, the band has performed in many locations including our football and basketball games, marching band and indoor winter competitions, Hasting Jazz Festival, Faneuil Hall (Boston, MA), World War II Memorial (Washington, DC), Third Man Records (Nashville, TN), Madison Avenue Sculpture Garden (New York, NY), Royal Ontario Museum (Toronto, ON), as well as to support our community at Abbey Park, ribbon-cutting ceremonies, Erwin Orchards, Supper with Santa Event, Pumpkinfest, Cool Yule and the Memorial Day Parades. We would like to thank you for your generosity and support of the South Lyon High School Bands! *This is not a South Lyon Community Schools-sponsored activity.
