Campaign message
The James Monroe Marching Band is growing in numbers and returning to the field in Competition. We are, however, experiencing issues with our current means of instrument and uniform transport. The band’s box truck is a 2002 Ford E350 with over 290,000 miles on the engine and a transmission that is going out. We also have a small trailer, but it will not be enough space to transport for even our current band size of 32 members. We will be able to use our current setup for this upcoming season but are looking ahead and fundraising for the future of the group. Monroe County’s music program is seeing an increase in numbers, and we expect in the coming years for the Marching Band to grow to between 45-50 members. In order to compensate for those numbers, we are planning to purchase a 20 foot by 8.5-foot car trailer. This will give enough room for our bigger instruments like the drumline, front ensemble, and tubas, as well as room for shelving to be built to better organize our woodwind and brass instruments. The total cost of the trailer we plan to purchase will be around $6,000. Please consider donating to the James Monroe High School Marching Mavericks and supporting the arts programs in Monroe County, West Virginia! Please take 5 minutes and donate whatever you can; even the smallest donation makes a difference. Each participant has an individual goal of raising $500.00 for the fundraiser, so please donate so that they may accomplish it.
